In a nutshell: it accentuates the existing powercurve rather than complement it.
In a bit more detail: The car is already good (torquey) in 2nd, 3rd and 4th @2500-4000rpm and the RaceChip improves that.
However, what this engine needs is torque low and power in high gears: @1500-2500rpm it is dead and remains dead with the RaceChip.
Similarly in 5th/6th on the motorway you will need to go down to 4th sometimes with or without the RaceChip.
So £450 (+ extra insurance + engine/clutch stress) to be a bit more torquey within a range in 2nd, 3rd and 4th is not a good investment, hence it is going back.
P.S. The car is possibly going to be going back as well but that is detailed in another thread...
