Hi Everyone,

I have a 2021 Tarraco Xcellence Lux Fwd 2.0 Tdi DSG with no towbar prep.

We recently purchased bikes and after a disaster with a rear mounted rack, I'm wanting to fit a detachable towbar and single electrics for a bike rack.

I have a mechanic pal to fit it for me but am just needing some clarity on which brands to go for (brink, witter?), whether it can be fitted without cutting the bumper and whether a Tiguan Allspace or Kodiaq towbar will fit too as they seem more readily available and a bit cheaper?

An update on this. I had a Brink detachable bar fitted to my Xcellence Lux yesterday. Had the job done at Hedleys in Durham who had fitted a detachable bar to my previous Leon ST. I went for dedicated electrics rather than a bypass setup. Excellent job, only took about 2 hours during which...

I bought this one and fitted it myself You are being redirected...

I didnt have towbar prep so had to run the vehicle spec loom to the fusebox behind the glovebox. Its a bit of a faff and if im honest i shouldnt have been a tight arse and just paid someone to fit it (there wasnt a great deal of difference in price).
You’ll need to get the car coded once you’ve fitted it, my local towbar place coded mine for me.

As above, no bumper cuts required. You will need to remove a fair bit of interior to run the new loom in.
