Hi everyone,

New member and first time Seat owner here.

I just received 19 plate Tarraco First Edition Plus.

Any advice on things to check?

Also I was told the car had 2 services so far (total mileage 21k). I received the one done by the trader but not the one done by the first owner. Apparently, there is no hard copy service booklet with these cars.

What is warranty terms & conditions regarding servicing? The car still has 9 months warranty but will I be asked to prove it has been serviced to schedule if I need the warranty?

Finally, this model has the wireless charger but I couldn't connect to apple car play wirelessly. I can connect with a USB cable. Is it possible to connect to the car play via bluetooth in this model?

Re the service, the dealer is talking boll*cks as per usual.

SEAT has online (electronic) service records where previous services should be recorded (don't expect detail, just date, mileage and type: minor, major).

Tell them to do their job (yeah right) and log in and print you a copy.

I will check but the car is not from a main dealer and I was told the first service was done at an independent. Second service is done at the trader. I wonder if I find a problem under warranty if Seat would ask to see these.

This whole no service booklet stuff is not good really.

New car serviced for the first time at an independent is suspect to say the least.

I would check the warranty legalese on whether it requires servicing at an authorised provider.

I too have a First Edition Plus 4WD 2.0 TDI MY19. I have had two services from a VAG specialist independent who informed me that as long as they used genuine SEAT parts, the service did not invalidate the warranty. When I needed some warranty work done, I took the car to the SEAT dealership who were perfectly happy to do the warranty work knowing that the servicing had been done by an independent.

Thanks Simol. That's reassuring. As long as I can get the receipt for first service I am ok with it. I think there is some regulation now stopping manufacturers to limit warranty to their own service.

Were you asked to show that the car was serviced?

I cannot find the terms and conditions of Seat warranty anywhere.

All is good. They now sent me the print out of from the Sear Erwin (electronic service information system). Pre-delivery checks and first service was done by the dealer (oil basically). Second service done by the trade I purchased (motorpoint). So warranty wise it should be fine.

It is a bit annoying that there is a wireless charger but no wireless CarPlay. Also I can't see the CarPlay map on driver dashboard.

I think the engine is a bit loud compared to my 2007 BMW 6 cylinder naturally aspirated. Not a very refined sound inside. Outside it sounds much better. It is more similar to 1.0 turbo Suzuki I had.

MIB2 never had the ability for wireless CarPlay (I think early users got refunds for it being included in the brochure but the actual delivered cars not having it), MIB3 does allow it but they now seem to have discontinued the wireless charging (even thought the Ateca has them both in top trims), you can't make it up!

I use the following two solutions (you only need the former) to get what I want done (i.e. wireless charging and CarPlay):

Do you know how long does it take to get to apple car play screen from starting the car with this wifi dongle?

Also has it been stable? Does it drop signal etc. There are some mixed reviews on Amazon but maybe these are some software update issues.

it takes about 10 seconds to get wireless car play to display on your screen once setup , i have had no issues since getting mine about 6 months ago . It had the latest firmware update when i got it

About 15", it is not perfect and it freezes sometimes but I think that is the MIB.

Overall for me worth the investment.

Further to the above, I was given an Audi A3 3.0 TFSI SLine MY20 as a hire car (rat went for the engine eco friendly wire insulation overnight, owners beware) with MIB3 and the CarPlay interface took FOREVER to initialise, so much so that I think the Carlinkit has the edge speed wise.

The Ateca MY21 though that I was given previsously (another hire car, another of my many trips to dealers) was lightning fast (with both wireless charging and wireless carplay mind you, how can they do in the Ateca and not the Tarraco)?

Go figure.
