Not sure if anyone is going to 'retro' fit a spare wheel but I have just fitted one today. Kit obtained from local Dealer who had one in stock.
Before you start remove the boot tray and the cross bar section at the rear of the seats. it just slides up.

Photo One shows the original polystyrene moulding removed. To remove this it has to have the central tray removed and retained for later along with the threaded tube which holds it down. Once the screwed retainer is removed the threaded tube can be removed by pressing down and turning 90 degrees. I think it s the same as the replacement that comes with the spare wheel kit so maybe could be left but I removed it to allow the polystyrene moulding to be removed. To allow the complete moulding to be removed the two tabs (see photo two) have to be pulled to allow the two seats to tilt up on the air arms. The plastic trim at the bottom of the photos where the boot locking catch is has to be removed by gently pulling up and out from under the boot rubber seal. Unfortunately I broke one of the retaining spring catches underneath but will be offering a replacement next week. One the area is clear the replacement polystyrene moulding is fitted and the spare wheel plashed upside down in the well. The retained central polystyrene moulding is fitted in the centre of the wheel well and the threaded retainer pushed down into the metal base clip and turned at 90 degrees. The screwed retainer nut is tightened to lock the wheel down.

Photo Two: shows it all in place with the relevant jack and tools placed in their appropriate areas of the moulding.

Photo Three: shows the seats lowered by pulling the tabs and pressing down onto the catches and replacing the cross bar.

Photo Four: Shows it all back in place with the boot cover fitted and the plastic trim fixed.

Hope this may be of help to anyone planning the fit.

I should add that there was not any instructions so I just figured out where all the bits go. I think if Id had the Terraco with me at the time the Dealer would have fitted the kit but it only took me about 30 mins all in and including emptying the boot before I could start.

I bought a genuine VW Oone from thewheelshop for£150. You don't get the extra polystyrene inserts though but you save over £100
From Seat DirectParts ,co,uk they quote £220 for the wheels kit which comes with the polystyrene inserts and the jack etc. I bought from a Dealer which may provide a cheaper price than the above depending on your Dealer. By the time you add a jack, wheel brace etc then there is not so much of a cost difference.

There is actually another part that I don't see in your retrofit kit. I don't know how important it is but it's a metal bracket that fits along the top of the tyre. The bracket is is the same height as the space saver. Not sure what it is for, maybe its the support for the floor when you don't have a spare in situ.

Hi
I have just purchased a spare wheel kit. Reading your fitting instructions you mention "the plastic trim at the bottom of the photos where the boot locking catch is has to be removed by gently pulling up and out from under the boot rubber seal" I am not sure what you mean by "gently pulling up" How did you pull it up? Are the two lower protruding lugs for lifting it. If so, how did you do that. Also there seems to be two higher protruding lugs that look like they can be depressed.
I would be very greatful if you could explain in detail how you removed this trim.
Thanks
Arthur
