Side steps

Post by Mojo2020 » Fri Jan 17, 2020 7:04 pm

Hello

Just wondering if anyone was able to have side steps added by their dealer, and at what cost?

It wasn't an option for me when I ordered the car through drivethedeal.com

Thank you.

Mine came with them fitted. I'm not a fan to be honest.
They dont seem to be wide enough to be used properly. Adults getting in and out can't use them, and invariably end up getting dirt off them on their trousers legs. Mrs McSimmo is about 5'6" and trying to get out of the sports shaped seats and onto the ground is a pain for her.
They also seem to collect all the muck thrown up by the front wheels.
Have you tried using them, maybe at a dealers?
Aesthetically I think they really improve the appearance of the car.

I don't step on mine but my kids find it useful getting in and out.

Thanks for your replies.

It's mainly for my two little ones as they insist on climbing into their car seats independently..

I will try them out at a dealer first, sounds a good idea

I must admit they do get dirty quick but I think my mud flaps help.
The dealer did say the side steps can take 200 kilos of weight but I’m not so sure.
I have used them for cleaning the roof and they do fill solid.
