An update on this.
I had a Brink detachable bar fitted to my Xcellence Lux yesterday. Had the job done at Hedleys in Durham who had fitted a detachable bar to my previous Leon ST.
I went for dedicated electrics rather than a bypass setup.
Excellent job, only took about 2 hours during which time we took the bus down into the city, had a walk around and a spot of lunch. Got a phone call when the car was ready to be collected.
Total cost...detachable bar, dedicated electrics, £561 all in.

My dealer has quoted £1200, does anyone know of somewhere in East Anglia that I could get one fitted.?

PF Jones come highly recommended. They have mobile fitters who cover the Norwich area, don’t know whereabouts you are exactly.
Google search will bring them up.

Hi,
New Tarraco comes Friday :)
Any updates on Tow Bars?
I've seen one for sale to fit Tarraco and Allspace.
Do I need the towbar preparation done before delivery of the car or would a normal installer get it right??
Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Tow bar prep is not necessary as a reputable fitter should be perfectly capable of doing everything for you. Personally I would always go for dedicated electrics even though they cost more.

I have the same one that Simol has. I'm not sure but I think it is the same one used by the VW and Skoda versions.

It tucks away under the car when not in use, and is released electronically from a switch in the boot.
It was dealer fitted when I got the car last year, and it cost around the figures quoted in the previous posts.
